About The Dharma Centre: We’ve been ministering in correctional services facilities for the past 10 years, starting with Malmesbury prison. We now offer programs in two other facilities: Brandvlei Prison, Worcester, and Helderstroom Prison, Caledon. We offer a five-month course in Brandvlei Prison, comprising 3 X 1-day modules and 2 X 2-day modules specifically focusing on sustainable rehabilitation and developing mindful awareness. (New posting on our blog today.) Our services include two different programs: purely Zen (mainly Korean) with sitting groups in each of the three prisons and the Maia program we currently offer in Malmesbury and Brandvlei. The Dharma Centre is the first Buddhist group to offer programs in South African correctional facilities.
