Encouraging sentiment from PMI Community member Steven Braslaw, that we wanted to share with the rest of the community:
I was incarcerated for 1 1/2 years. My mindfulness practice gave me the opportunity to use my time well. It has been such a transformative experience. I have completely stopped seeing the world as a place of good and bad, just right and wrong life choices. I wanted to share a significant moment, when I really knew the value of seeing the impermanence of things. I was at San Quentin waiting for a visit. I had my hands cuffed behind me, and I was made to face a wall. When I closed my eyes, I felt a cool breeze blow across my face. At that moment, I was nowhere else but there, and I realized that love and beauty can find you anywhere, even in the seemingly darkest of places.
Thanks Steven for your beautiful words!
